Indecision

Hailing from Shepherd’s Bush in London, Shura has been releasing tracks and re-mixing big names such as Jessie Ware for some time now but it seems now the elusive songstress is really coming into her own as she begins to gradually release music of her own making.

Latest track ‘Indecision’ was uploaded to SoundCloud without any word from the musician but already it has become a firm favourite of her small but loyal fans. It’s considerably jumpier than her previous offerings of ‘Touch’ and ‘Just Once’ but still maintains her glacial innocent vocals that are similar yet totally alien when compared to artists such as Robyn, Lykke Li and recent Danish export MØ.

Taking lessons from recent resurgences in 90’s hip hop break beats, Shura spins them more towards an 80’s revival with the poppy synths that probably wouldn’t have sounded out of place on a Wham! track because of how ridiculously uplifting and catchy it is, everything a good pop song should be in this music ‘ed’s book!

Subtle love songs are an incredibly hard thing to tackle but ‘Indecision’ just oozes ease. Rome wasn’t built in a day but Shura sure does like to challenge any misconceptions you may have towards this genre of blissed out vibey pop. Shura is just proving moreso how it’s ok to admit you like pop music, it’s not all bad.

‘Indecision’ is a stellar example of why more people need to delve into Shura’s world. With airplay from Radio 1’s Huw Stephens whilst also receiving a ton of love on Hype Machine, all without having played a single live show, Shura is well on her way to becoming the next SoundCloud discovered artist of the moment.
