This year, the “Teen Choice Awards” were hosted by the gorgeous Lucy Hale who plays Aria Montgomery in TV Drama ‘Pretty Little Liars’ and the equally gorgeous Darren Criss A.K.A Blaine Anderson in all-singing, all-dancing Glee.
Every year, bands, actors and singers come far and wide to see if they can get their hands on a life-size surfboard award. With this year’s main winners being One Direction, the stars of Pretty Little Liars, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and fellow Disney Princess Demi Lovato.
Lea Michele, who was one of my best dressed of the evening, made a tearful speech about her late fiancée Cory Monteith, when picking up the award for Choice TV Actress for Glee. She wore a two-tone Oscar De La Renta dress; simple yet extremely elegant and beautiful. Her dress complimented her envy-inducing shiny locks and dewy skin.
Another fabulous lady who has been on my awards ceremony best dressed list a few times is Lily Collins. She wore a Houghton top and a tropical-printed Fausto Puglisi Resort skirt. One thing I love about Lily’s look is the way she accentuated her eyebrows to match her cat-eye liner. However, Bella Thorne arrived at the blue carpet event in an outfit with the same print as Lily’s skirt. Oops!
One of the big winners that I mentioned earlier; Selena Gomez, arrived in a green Cushine et Ochs dress with slits by her collarbone and slits to the thigh. Selena matched her dress with nude Nicholas Kirkwood heels with deadly straight hair and glossy pink lips.
One half of the hosting duo, Lucy Hale, wore a few outfits during the evening. An Angelys Balek dress was her first choice, beautiful followers by a pink Phillip Armstrong dress and dripping in gorgeous accessories each time. But my favourite, is the white Houghton top and skirt to show off her toned midriff whilst being papped on the blue TCA carpet with Darren Criss.
Nina Dobrev, another of my favourite leading ladies of the American TV world, not only picked up the award for Choice TV Actress for The Vampire Diaries, but she also picked up my award for how best to wear a jumpsuit. The splatter design jumpsuit worn by Miss. Dobrev was made by J.Mendel was the highlight of her ensemble, along with her high school-esque pony tail and orange clutch.
One Direction was not the only band to have gotten their hands on a TCA surfboard. The winners of the Choice Rock Group, Paramore, coordinated their outfits in the most awesome way staying true to their rock and roll style. Jeremy Davis, Taylor York and front woman Hayley Williams – who is sporting a new haircut – arrived wearing black and white. Their monochrome outfits brought the edge to the teen fest with Jeremy and Taylor’s slim-fitting suits and Hayley’s leather dress with a white leather cage overlay.
And to finish off, three legendary boys (who are definitely now men) from the Disney world who went on to their own career: The Jonas Brothers. Kevin, Nick and Joe arrived at the awards looking super casual but super cool. Nick wore a leather jacket over a striped t-shirt with skinny jeans and black shoes, Joe coordinated with blue and black with the same style as his younger brother, and oldest Jo Bro Kevin took his ensemble and coloured it tan. His light brown jacket and shoes took the edge off the darker colours of his two younger brothers. Kevin then took home an award for Choice TV Male Reality star for his part in “Married to Jonas”.
