Today is my last Spotted in my hometown of Bedford before I take flight – not literally – out of the coop and head slightly north towards Leicester. Not will my second year be more exciting and hard-working, but it’ll be the most fashionable yet! This week looks at the way our favourite celebrities dress to impress for events around the world.
Spotted: David Beckham at the Belstaff store on Bond street
Our favourite footballer and total hottie David Beckahm attended the opening of the new Belstaff store on Bond Street a few days back looking almost too cool to handle. David has showed us that not only is he the coolest dad around, but he can rock a leather jacket and a plain white tee better than most of us. It is simple outfits like this that men need to pay attention to this upcoming season. While suits are more on trend and on point than ever, this back-to-cool, Hedi Slimane grunge is also on the top of our trend list. With slicked back hair and black jeans, David has nailed this look for sure. Having mentioned leather jackets for women and men before, you know that they’re almost everywhere at the moment, but River Island have a great imitation leather jacket, which at £65 might be a bit pricey but will last you for the next few months to come – and then some! The slight detailing on the jacket will pull you apart from the rest of the leather clad gang that’ll be roaming the streets during the upcoming autumn/winter period.
Spotted: Rosie Huntingdon-Whitely
Cut out dresses are known to be something of the past. The lack of diversity in where the cut out parts of the dress were place began to grow more and more tedious as the spring/summer period grew longer. But just as I got fed up with them more than most others might have, model-cum-actress-cum-underwear designer and all-round English beauty Rosie Huntingdon-Whitely changed all of that. The Versus LBD from this season’s collection made me feel almost dizzy because it oozed class with that added sexiness that we’re all after for nights out and evening events. We know that ASOS are pretty much royalty of the online high street for its prices, diversity and wide range of pretty much anything, so it was second nature to me to check ASOS for similarities to Rosie’s holy grail of dresses. This £25 bargain is perfect. Not only is it a little black dress that is just the Queen of evening wear, but it’s a cut out too for anybody confident enough to show that little bit of extra flesh.
Spotted: Bradley Cooper’s beaut Suki Waterhouse
Lastly but certainly not least is Model and girlfriend of the ever-gorgeous Bradley Cooper; Suki Waterhouse. Here, Suki is proving that she really is an English rose with her outfit consisting of a plain white vest, a patterned midi skirt and black and brown accessories. Effortless hair and red lipstick combine together to make this an ensemble worth having. Now here is where I might falter because I have gone weak at the knees at a Topshop midi skirt – who’d have thought it! We all know – and I certainly know – that Topshop have always been top of the class when it comes to dressing the ultimate 90’s grunge way. The midi skirt (in the style of Suki’s) has received an A for effort in style, pattern and grunge-ness. For £48, the ball is in your court as to whether the price is too dear for the skirt, but I think that it’s worth it considering the current weather and trend sitting we’re in. Teamed with a white vest top and dainty heels like my new favourite model, with a band t-shirt and chunky ankle boots like in my visions or with a cropped jumper and brogues – you’re sure to make this midi skirt work for you in any which way possible!
