What were the clubs accomplishments in the previous season?

The men’s team narrowly missed on promotion last season in their BUCS division, finishing the season with 5 wins and 3 loses. The women’s team however weren’t entered in the BUCS league that season but managed to win comfortably against arch-rivals Leicester University in their Varsity Match.

What are your aspirations for this season?

To put DMU Volleyball on the map. The DMU Volleyball team is still fairly new as when it began it was only a recreational sports society. Now that we have established a foothold as a DMU sports team, we aim to further increase our stature, and develop more as a team and win.

Most memorable moment from last year?

The most memorable moments probably happened during the Pizza/Takeaway nights, sometimes instead of going out drinking and clubbing the team would gather in someone’s house where we played games, ate takeaway and drank… responsibly! It’s always a nice memory seeing 20-25 people or so getting along with each other even though they’re so competitive on the court!

Why should students join Volleyball?

Be it that you’re a beginner, someone who plays nationally or somewhere in between, the DMU volleyball team always welcome those who want to play. Volleyball is a sport that, although not as popular as football or basketball, equally as competitive, rewarding and enjoyable. So if you’re looking for a sport to learn or a sport where you want to win and compete, DMU volleyball is the team to do just that.

Anything else?
