As you all know, winter is well on its way. The days are getting shorter, darker and much colder! This means that in terms of fashion, it’s essential to have your wardrobe ready for the chilly season ahead so you can feel warm and cosy whilst maintaining your personal style. For me, there are 3 essential accessories that every girl should own in her wardrobe to prepare for the frosty months to come. These accessories are of course, hats, gloves and scarves, because you can’t survive the winter without them!

However, finding the right ones can be difficult – especially when there’s so many to choose from – and different styles suit different people. But when you finally find the right ones for you, they can complete any outfit this season, so it’s definitely worth investing in some if you haven’t already done so. Highcross is full of these ‘must haves’ right now, so why not go and have a look for yourself? After all, it’s another excuse to go shopping!

Hats – When looking for the right hat there are a several things you need to consider. In terms of style, you can’t go wrong with a classic beanie hat, but if you’re looking for something slightly more adventurous then a faux fur headband would be the perfect accessory to enhance your look. A favourite of mine in particular is from New Look for just £7.99. When selecting a colour, it’s always best to go for neutral colours such as white, black or brown. This makes them universal so you can wear them with any outfit you want – this is particularly useful when you’re on a budget but still want to look great.

WINTER ESSENTIALS HATS

Scarves – These are my favourite winter accessories because they have the ability to make a statement, as big or small, as you want. They look great on everyone and they’re incredibly cosy on a cold winter’s day. They come in so many colours, patterns and fabrics depending on where you shop. The choices are endless! A particular favourite of mine at the moment is tartan. More specifically River Island have a beautiful selection, prices ranging from as little as £10.

WINTER ESSENTIALS SCARVES

Gloves– There’s nothing worse than having cold hands, so what better than an accessory that not only insulates them but looks great at the same time? When choosing a pair of gloves, consider what fabric you like, I think cotton is great because it’s incredibly soft and compliments well with other fabrics. Another option would be leather, these also look great but personally I love a good pair of mittens!

WINTER ESSENTIALS GLOVES

Once you’ve added these three little essentials into your wardrobe this season, you should find all your outfits coming together. The cold weather might be approaching but that doesn’t mean you can’t still look great!
