Win Butler, the frontman of Canadian band Arcade Fire is set to release his debut solo record. Titled ‘Policy’ the album is to be released on March 16th of next year.

The album was recorded at the legendary Electric Lady studios in New York and features Arcade Fire member Jeremy Gara who is playing the drums for the record.

Arcade Fire headlined the opening night of this years Glastonbury Festival to a massive crowd as they tore through hits including Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains), Keep The Car Running and of course Wake Up.

The album comes after the end of a jam packed year which saw Win Butler nominated for an Oscar for the film score he created for Spike Jonze’s movie ‘Her’. Will this year also took on a slightly weirder project of scoring a film based on the life of a Barack Obama impersonator that lives in New York.

The first slice of the hotly anticipated album is called ‘Take My Side’ and can be heard at the following link, a must for all Arcade Fire fans despite the new music being totally inlikenable to his work with the band: https://soundcloud.com/mergerecords/wb-tms
