Tuesday 17th February

After Eric Lampaert had to unfortunately cancel his show at DLCF last year, he has returned! He promises to talk about homosexual meteorology and neurotic erotica. He also does a fantastic impression of a ring wraith.

Eric Lampaert: Testiculating (waving your arms talking b*ll*cks)

The Cookie

19:45 – 20:45

Josie Long has been described as a ‘cult optimist’, a title she has more than earned. Go along for a bloody lovely evening where politics, outdoorsiness and love collide in the most charming way imaginable.

Josie Long: Cara Josephine

What’s that? You enjoyed Eric Lampaert so much that you already want to see him again? Your wish is my command. Comedians Cinema Club is another great show from last year’s Edinburgh Fringe. Hosted by Eric, it involves comedians improvising performances of a different classic film every time. DMU Comedy alumnus Jordan Gill saw this practically every day for three weeks in Edinburgh, if that isn’t an endorsement I don’t know what is.

The Cookie Comedy Club @ The Globe

21:30 – 22:30

Wednesday 18th February

Sean McLoughlin is an act who I have conflicting feelings about. I think he’s an excellent stand-up and his show at 2012’s Edinburgh Fringe in which he battled the most frustrating drunk, was a tour de force of hilarity and real emotion. But I don’t know if I want him to become successful. He deserves to, but his discontent and misanthropy are so amusing.

Sean McLoughlin: Overthrow the Descent

The Belmont Hotel

A lot of comedians claim to be political because they appear on weekly panel shows about the news. Mark Thomas is the real deal. The Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Award winner 2014 is telling a thrilling (and true) story of spies and arms manufacturers.

Mark Thomas: Cuckooed

Curve

19:45 – 22:00

Tony Law brings the festival a much needed dose of ridiculousness. The Canadian surrealist is bringing his work in progress show to the festival.

Then join observational comedian Tiff Stevenson in her search for optimism in a world of Kardashians, guns and Everyday Vodka.
