‘Master of the highly surreal.’ Joey Page will be performing at The Crumblin’ Cookie on February 23rd.

Another day, another interview. This time, Demon Media got invited to The Y Theatre on Saturday 8th February, and we caught up with the hilarious Joey Page, to discuss onstage tactics, his new show, and a personal gripe he holds with The Demon. Scroll down to watch the exclusive interview.

Joey is a master of the highly surreal, and silly, with his unique brand of irreverent high energy, and occasionally non sensical, comedy. He’s a fast rising star on the circuit, and on television, having been on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, BBC3’s Comedy Marathon and Noel Fielding’s Luxury Comedy. Not to mention, he pulls off an Edwardian style hat with aplomb. Having performed at De Montfort Students Union a few days earlier, Joey will be back in Leicester to perform his show Golden Peacock Hour at The Crumblin’ Cookie on February 23rd.

His whimsical blend of the fanciful, magical and imaginative is a welcome relief to the mainstream, and speaking about the show, Joey said: “If you hate the world, have been dumped, or are skint, if you come to my show for an hour, you won’t think about any of those things.”

Destined to be hugely successful, Joey says he still feels comfortable in the smaller venues, particularly ones with a low ceiling. But the prospect of still being able to catch him in smaller venues shouldn’t stop you coming to see this witty and original show, which is bound to be a highlight of the festival. And under all the hideously stylish garments that he adorns, he’s also a lovely guy. What more could you ask for?
