DMU Taekwondo at the GTUK championships
On the 6th of December DMU Taekwondo participated in the annual GTUK university championship which took place in Warwick University.
We were on top of the competition during most of the morning but when it came to sparring and breaking we did not do as well as we had hoped. Despite this, we managed to come 3rd out of the 5 universities competing that day.
Loughborough University came first with a score of 2.19, Followed by Warwick University with 1.76 points, then DeMontfort with a score of 1.46, Aston University with 1.17 points, and last place was for Leicester University with 1 point.
Our medal count went as follow:
Patterns: Three gold, one silver and one bronze.
Sparring: One gold, two silver.
Destruction: One silver.
Our performance at University champs have been improving exponentially every year and we’re confident we can win it in the near future.
