Campus Enterprise Opportunities are offering students at De Montfort University a chance to turn business ideas into reality through workshops and a cash prize competition.

The aim of Campus Enterprise Opportunities (CEO) is to help provide the guidance to assist anyone considering starting up a business to have the required knowledge to get it off to a good start.

This is achieved through numerous bookable workshops located on De Montfort University’s campus throughout 2015 that are open to all and cover all the basics for all business ideas, as well as a bookable Start-up Surgery for a discussion with qualified Business Advisors.

CEO’s annual Business Venture Competition also offers an opportunity to win cash prizes and start-up support to help with the launch of the applicants’ new business.

Amy Maher, Project Manager for Campus Enterprise Opportunities at DMU, said: “Campus Enterprise Opportunities Business Venture Competition is a great opportunity to kick start your business idea.

“Whatever your idea might be I would encourage any student or graduate to enter the competition, as with cash prizes and business support to be won it is a great way to develop your idea and get it off the ground.”

The competition is for any type of business idea whether it is a product or service.

There are a range of different award categories so there will be something for all faculties.

Claire Danielle Sherriff, who studied BA Design Crafts at DMU, won the Creative Award in 2013, and has since gone on to open up her own gallery called CDS Gallery.

The competition can be entered by completing an application form online via with an entry deadline of Monday 9 February 2015.
