This Christmas season, the Curve Theatre in Leicester have surely outdone themselves with their production of the 50’s rock ‘n’ roll classic ‘Grease’. Directed by Nikolai Foster, the performance based on the infamous 1971 musical by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey made the night a true success.

Good-girl Sandy and leather-clad greaser Danny are unexpectedly reunited at school after a whirlwind summer romance, when Sandy transfers to Rydell High for Senior year; can they pass the challenges that teenage life throws at them? Will true love prevail in the end?

Anticipation grew within the audience as they waited for the spectacle to begin – and they weren’t disappointed. Travelling back in time to 1950’s Chicago without even leaving our seat, a mass of leather jackets, eccentric outfits, and expertly designed staging filled the stage as the cast sang and danced their way through the night, excellently nailing routine after routine under the blinding lights of the stage in this light-hearted and family friendly show.

Sound filled the theatre perfectly during the Broadway quality performance, making sure you had an enjoyable night no matter where you sat. Dance choreography perfectly matched the scenes and was executed accurately by the talented cast with everything from singing to dancing. So, if you’re looking for some fun this winter join the Curve Theatre for a night of musical extravaganza!
