It’s officially wintertime which means it’s getting colder. Who knows? Maybe we’ll get snow this year. During the colder weather, it is so important to keep warm, cosy and comfortable. Here are different ways to stay cosy this winter.
Blankets
Who doesn’t love a nice cosy blanket to snuggle up to after a long day at university? If you don’t want to put the heating on, blankets are a perfect solution. Sherpa, fleece, knitted, woollen…the types of cosy blankets are endless. You can pick up an affordable blanket from shops such as B&M, Home Bargains, Primark and more.
Clothing and Pyjamas
If you’re anything like me, you have a massive collection of warm, soft, long-sleeved pyjamas that you get out as soon as the weather gets colder. Also, wearing layers outside is the key to avoiding getting cold on your travels into university. The last thing you want leading up to Christmas is getting a cold or a flu.
Snuddies
Snuddies are probably one of the best latest clothing items! They’re cosy, comfortable (and most of them have pockets – bonus!) – it feels like wearing an entire blanket. You can get them in a variety of different cool designs.
Gloves, hats and scarves
Nothing is worse than having cold hands, ears or neck when you’re walking to campus! Primark sell cheap matching sets to finish your winter look – looking good and staying warm!
Handwarmers
As well as gloves, there is another way to keep your hands toasty warm – handwarmers. You can get disposable ones which you can place inside your gloves. There are also rechargeable ones which most people find more effective. Most of them have different heating modes with a long battery life.
Electric Heating Pad
Originally, I had one of these to help with cramps, but it is also very effective for keeping you warm without the need of a hot water bottle. They can come in different sizes and simply plug into an electric socket. Most of them come with various modes, heat intensities – and some even come with massaging options!
Hot water bottle
If you prefer a more traditional, old-school method, hot water bottles are still a go to way of keeping warm. You can also get some cool hot water bottle covers from Primark – such as, Disney characters, cute animals and more.
Warm drinks
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate- it’s the perfect season to be drinking your favourite hot drinks. If you want to get really fancy, you can purchase some cheap flavoured syrups, squirty cream and marshmallows to make your hot chocolates deluxe.
