Grunge glamour is a style that never goes out of fashion and makes appearances in our wardrobes year in year out. This year we saw it reappear with a few tweaks to put it once again at the very centerfold of the runway.
It takes many forms such as leather and lace, stud and chains or velvet and suede. It is a timeless classic that will, with the right staple items and a few adjustments, prepare you for the upcoming season.
The 2013 Fashion Week forecasted a wild side of grunge with Cavalli putting particular focus on leopard and snake print. The high streets version is an array of clashing tops – Very and ASOS have a wide collection – that teamed with a plain black pencil skirt, is a great look for many figures, and also a staple item for spring summer 2013. Although another alternative is the time-defying black jeans we all have stashed somewhere.
However if that is a little too bold, Stella M and Marc Jacobs incorporated monochrome stripes into the look, or went for a more minimalistic look accessorised by an animal print belt teamed with matching bag and heels. The new season’s lines from Topshop and River Island are perfect for finding those few key items.
