Students in their final year are preparing to showcase their work in this year’s degree shows.
The faculties of Art and Design and Technology are putting on events this summer to give students the opportunity to present their work in front of special guests including potential employers.
Charlotte Duhaney, events organiser for the faculty of technology said: “The Degree Shows offer students the ability to showcase their hard work throughout their study at university to friends, family and potential employers.
“It’s also a celebratory event where the students can celebrate their success in their studies.”
The shows are open to all final year students to take part in.
Charlotte added: “Students in all years are welcome to come along and visit the Degree Shows to see the great work that our third years have completed.”
Students from a wide range of courses are involved in this year’s technology degree shows including Graphic Design, Animation Design, Game Art Design, Engineering, Computing and Media Production.
The projects on show will range from unique apps to short films to eye catching branding materials.
Charlotte added: “This show will be bigger and better than before with more students exhibiting their projects.”
For the opening day of the event the faculty of technology are expecting over 300 guests, including potential employers to attend the show.
Charlotte said: “We want students to remember ‘this is not the end, this is just the beginning’.”
The degree shows will run from Saturday 14th June through to Thursday 19th June, excluding Sunday in the Queens Building and the Bede Island Building.
