Who would have thought it! Crochet? Fashionable? Well, yes, actually.
Since the turn of 70s fashion that is consuming every angle and corner of the fashion box, it’s only common knowledge that crochet (along with lace, suede and bucket loads of denim) was going to be leading the pack.
Crochet is a strange one; a concept that your mother or grandmother might enjoy doing in her spare time in the shape of baby boots and blankets, but it might be the way you transform your wardrobe this spring, especially with it’s colours and interesting texture.
First stop, ASOS!
The first is a lovely crochet dress courtesy of Glamorous via our favourite online retailer. For £66, you might think it’s a big of a splurge, but it’ll be so versatile and ready for boots and sandals whatever the weather!
The second is perfect for any holiday, festival or outdoor occasion on the horizon. For £30 for the top and £30 for the trousers, this double crochet wonder is great for Summer. Add some colour with browns and muted pinks for a true 70s vibe.
Finally, from ASOS, this Spiritual Hippie top will go perfect with that denim or brown suede skirt that you’ve had your eye on for the last couple of weeks. Now’s your chance, rock your inner flower power with this 70s perfection!
Don’t forget, courtesy of UNiDAYS, all students currently get 20% off any purchase. Get it before it’s gone!
Next up is our BFFs, Topshop!
The first top is a crochet crop with all the colours that this season is all about: oranges, reds, browns, yellows and pinks. Perfect with high-rise jeans or worn-in shorts, this £14 top will be great for the Summer!
The second is £22 and is great for a more formal occasion that would go perfectly with skinny fit trousers or a-line skirts but will keep you on trend and cool in the warmer months ahead.
Missguided, third to the party, have a small but great collection of crochet pieces.
The first crochet item is £35 and is a piece that just screams festival style! This sleeveless maxi kimono has a crochet pattern at the back and is perfect for those who aren’t sure of the crochet trend.
Next door is a black tasselled crochet jumper, which is £25 and perfect for days out. I think this is a great piece because it’s a good crochet option for those who (like me!) don’t wear a lot of colour.
What do you think to this trend? Crochet all round!
