Deadpool and Wolverine
In this iconic film, Ryan Reynolds reprised his role as Deadpool, with Hugh Jackman by his side as Wolverine. And we can’t forget DogPool – what more could you want in a film?
Marvel’s Deadpool and Wolverine did not disappoint fans with the classic Deadpool humour, an amazing soundtrack, brilliant fight scenes and easter eggs throughout.
Another highlight of this film was the costumes. Deadpool returns in his red tight latex suit while Wolverine is beaming in his comic-book accurate yellow gear. And we were right guys! Marvel had cleverly edited out Hugh Jackman’s iconic mask from the trailers – I’m still reeling from the comic book accuracy.
Alien: Romulus
This blockbuster horror film brought back everything fans loved about the original Alien franchise. The film follows a group of young space colonisers who come across a horrifying alien life form on a derelict space station.
Alien: Romulus honours and modernises the previous films, which many argue is why it is one of the best horror remakes.
Remember: In space, no one can hear you scream!
It Ends with Us
2024 saw the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s book, It Ends with Us. Blake Lively plays the role of Lily Bloom, while Justin Baldoni directs and stars in the film as Ryle Kincaid.
This film is applauded for its mature and effective portrayal of domestic abuse, a difficult subject matter.
After this film’s success, there is no doubt that more of Colleen Hoover’s books will receive a film adaptation.
TV Shows
Fallout
Prime Video released a hit TV show in 2024 based on the popular game franchise, Fallout. Based in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, the series follows Lucy, who has lived her whole life in an underground vault to protect herself from nuclear radiation, bandits and mutants.
The show is filled with funny jokes, random violence and interesting characters which makes it very enjoyable viewing.
It was announced in April that a second season will be coming out soon!
Agatha All Along
This latest Marvel show follows Agatha Harkness after the events of the popular show, WandaVision. Agatha recruits an unlikely team of allies on her quest to regain her powers that were stolen by Scarlet Witch, Wanda Maximoff.
I won’t spoil anything but there are plenty of twists, surprise cameos and a catchy tune that you’ll be humming for days.

Baby Reindeer
Netflix’s original series, Baby Reindeer, took the media by storm in 2024. Based on a true story, comedian Richard Gadd, tells the story of him dealing with a female stalker.
I didn’t have many expectations going into the show, but what I really didn’t expect was for it to be such a hard watch. There are many dark elements to it, which has caused a lot of speculation on social media.
Piers Morgan even interviewed the supposed real Martha!
Games
Black Myth: Wukong
This action role-playing game developed and published by Game Science is inspired by a classical Chinese novel named Journey to the West. The game follows a monkey character with human characteristics based on the novel’s character, Sun Wukong.
Many gamers have been stunned by the game’s amazing graphics, action, combat and challenging bosses.
Although there have been some reported bugs, the game exceeds expectations.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
Activision’s latest game in the Call of Duty’s franchise has been raved about by fans. It features a variety of missions on the campaign and an online multiplayer mode.
There are many flexible ways to approach missions in the game’s campaign mode. Stealth tactics are encouraged but going in all gun’s blazing is also allowed – so you can play how you want to.

Star Wars: Outlaws
The latest game adaptation of the world of Star Wars was released in August 2024 by Ubisoft. This game is an action-adventure, open world game with plenty of gunbattles.
The game takes place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, with gameplay lasting roughly 20 hours. It features many reckless rescue missions, recognisable locations and amazing graphics.
