Halloween is almost here. Many people believe that it’s just a kid’s holiday and that adults should not be dressing up. But why should only kids have the fun? I’m always up for another excuse to get dressed up and go party. If you’re like me, you probably want to spend your money on drinks rather than an outfit that you’re only going to wear for one night. Whatever event you’re going to this year, you can look great and stay within your budget. Here are a few ideas to get you inspired.
#1 Zombie
What you need:
- Ripped old clothes
- Fake blood
- Green white and grey face paint
Find some old clothes, rip a few holes in them, cover them in the fake blood and make them look stained and dirty. Then, draw dark circles around your eyes with the face paint.
#2 Geek
What you need:
- Slicked back hair
- Black rimmed glasses with tape on the side
- White socks
- A white shirt with pens in the pocket
- Trousers that are too short
This one will probably get a few laughs! For added nerdiness you could add a bow tie, suspenders or a calculator.
#3 Rock Star
What you need:
- Spiked hair
- Spray on hair dye
- Eyeliner
- Fake tattoos
- Tight Ripped jeans
- Sunglasses
- Rock tee
- Studded belt
- Leather jacket
Channel your inner rock god or rock chick with this costume. Just add plenty of attitude.
#4 1960s Hippie
What you need:
- Baggy, ripped or flared jeans
- Sun glasses
- Bandanna
- Headband
- Tie dye t-shirt
- Sandals
- Long necklaces
Girls could do a prettier, feminine version of this look by swapping the jeans and t-shirt for a long, billowing dress and flowery headband.
#5 Vampire
What you need:
- Plastic fangs
- Fake blood
Ok, so maybe it’s not the most imaginative costume it the world but it’s inexpensive. You can pick up some of fake fangs at the Paper Tiger shop in town for under a pound. To make your own fake blood you can mix together pancake syrup, red food colouring, corn flour and water (this really works!).
