Dear Santa,
We’ve all been very good this year. Our university grades are top-notch, and we write fabulous articles for Demon Fashion as well as cutting down on drinking, eating less takeaways and working really hard in the library everyday (one can dream…) Here’s our designer wish-list. We think we deserve everything!
Every year when Christmas comes around, there is an undertone of anticipation of what you will receive from under the Christmas tree. Whilst everyone in Demon Fashion is a student, this wish list collates all the designer items (with a few high street pieces thrown in for good measure) that we would wish for should we have the money! From tartan to classic black suede Louboutins, we’ve got everything covered.
Everywhere you look this season, there is tartan. Tartan kilts, leggings and jackets, but these beautifully tailored tartan trousers from Toast are divine and will are fit to take you from Autumn/Winter to Spring effortlessly! The darker colours in the patterns make them a wardrobe favourite for the darker days and nights. Just a thought – pair them with these classic black suede Louboutins for a ultra chic evening look.
Kate Spade has been on our accessory radar for a while now, and with the release of her latest handbag collection, it’s no surprise that we’ve had to restrain ourselves from adding everything to our wishlist. The gorgeous marl grey colour of this bag makes it a really adaptable and versatile piece, as well as compiling to many of this season trends. Pop the three make up essentials – Benefit’s Browzings, MAC Studio Fix compact and Clinique’s Chubby Lipstick – and you are good to go this Christmas season!
Nice trainers are hard to find. It’s difficult not to look like the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in the 90’s or Sporty Spice, or even Mick Jagger in Air Max 1’s when attempting to don a pair, so opt for these metallic beauties from Kurt Geiger to nail the “I don’t care what you think about me, I’m a student and I’m really hungover” look. (Hey, it’s a necessary look to accomplish when you’re at university!) Pair with the leather dungarees from Topshop for a modern, rock-chic look. Whilst you’re at it, a digital camera will become your best friend over the next month or two. Imagine, cute photos with your boyfriend or girlfriend in the snow, snaps to recreate memories of a night out with your best friend, the unwanted reminders of society initiations, all can be captured with one small thing. Now, we are no experts on technology so it will be worth your while to shop around to find the best digital camera for your needs at the best price, but we’ve heard Lumix are reasonably priced for a high quality product.
Every winter comes the same decision – what coat shall we buy this season? Camel and pastel have been all over the designer catwalks – Donna Karan and Max Mara demonstrate the camel trend perfectly whilst Jonathan Saunders represents the latter beautifully. The Zara replication shown in the wish-list is a ideal high-street alternative. Coming in at around £80, for students it is probably still considered a splurge item, but it is so hard to care when the coat is that beautiful, right? If a brown tone isn’t your thing, the Reiss cobalt blue alternative is a real head turner. Reiss are renowned for being the bridge between designer and high street and are often known for being “upper end high street” – a label which sums up their range flawlessly. Whilst their items can come with steep price tags, it is not surprising when you are met with their divine quality, effortless style and classic tailored items.
