HIYA! This week has been somewhat of a busy week in the fashion world. Medham Kirchoff for Topshop arrived online and in stores Thursday, Isabel Marant for H&M sold out in minutes and the Regent Street store played host to celebrities including the gorge Sienna Miller, and Victoria and David Beckham kindly donated 20 boxes (yes 20!) of the pairs designer clothes including 100 pairs of Victoria’s shoes and a selection of David’s baseball caps and Dolce and Gabbana suits to the Kensington and Chelsea Red Cross shop Friday. Aw! Start deep breathing, there’s more to come…
As well as those snippets of fashion news, you might know that this week and last week has been a ferociously busy week for Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and the gang as they jet set around the world to promote The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. This brings me onto this weeks Spotted: A Catching Fire Edition, I picked out three of the best outfits from the premieres that have been happening over the world.
First comes Disney star and recent fashionista, Bella Thorne. The redheaded beauty graced the red carpet in LA wearing a see-through floral print dress with a strapless number underneath by Blumarine. Nude is most definitely in this season, so Bella has nailed it. Her low maintenance up do makes sure that the focus remains fully on the anti-winter gown. The dress, which is from Blumarine’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection has ¾ sleeves, which is unusually understated, considering most floor-length dresses have long sleeves or none at all. I’m definitely a fan!
Zoe Kravitz is definitely rising to the top of the fashion world. Her grunge vibe is something I simply adore (as you might know already, I love the grunge look) so when she accompanied her father, Lenny Kravitz who plays Cinna in The Hunger Games series, wearing a short off-the-shoulder Balenciaga dress; I clapped and praised her fine style. The sandals she wore with low-key jewellery and smoky eye make up ensures that she wins best dressed in everything. Keep doing what you’re doing, Zoe.
Last but certainly not least in any shape or form comes The Hunger Games star, Jennifer Lawrence. It came as no surprise to me – or anyone else – that Jennifer, who plays Katniss Everdeen, arrived to the LA Premiere in Dior: her favourite designer. Having had most of her Premiere dresses for film promotion and her famous Oscars gown from Dior, Jen has created a solid friendship with the fashion house, meaning there are more stunning dresses to come. The mesh sleeveless gown with the evident ‘see-through’ factor and an a-line skirt has caught the attention of thousands. Most argue that Miss. Lawrence looks ‘uncomfortable’ in the gown and it ‘isn’t for her’ – boo to the haters – because I love it and think it suits her curvy frame down to a T. Underneath, Jennifer wore a body suit, to put full attention on those evny-creating pins. Not to mention her new hairstyle, Jennifer, you are reigning supreme!
