Fashion is many peoples desire, many peoples creation and it exists in our everyday life. Even when we claim to not we follow trends. We all use clothes as an expression to tell others something about ourselves. Fashion is Art. And this year for Spring/ Summer 2014 Art and fashion collide.

The Chanel collection was at the Grande Palais gallery in Paris, where Lagerfeld managed to demonstrate the line of subtly eclectic pieces mixed with colour, exuberance but also down-to-earth for everyday wear. He took inspiration from artists such as Jackson Pollock (an abstract American Painter) and Marcel Duchamp (a French &  American conceptual artist and sculptor).  Similar inspiration could be seen in Dolce and Gabbana and Prada collections. Their inspiration was more from street Artists Gabriel Specter and El Mac whose clear use of colour and style can be viewed as the tone which outlines this season’s trends.

As students think creatively for this one,you can make your own printed t-shirt by looking at tutorials and team it with skinny jeans you may already own (you may want to splatter those for added effect). For the slightly less creative like me, Topshop have a really good collection for vibrant colours and patterns.

Asos is also worth a look for jeans and skirts that you may want to team with a more casual oversized t-shirt. And for the brave they have some midi length dresses that would do well to spark up a dreary winter wardrobe. Cheap monday has a great selection of spray style t-shirts and casual jeans at affordable prices and something a little different than just hitting the normal high street.
