Drew Barrymore once said, “I love romance. I’m a sucker for it. I love it so much. It’s pathetic”. Whether this is applicable to you is besides the point for this post – it’s Valentines Day as of 10 minutes! Let us help you decide what to wear!
Valentines Day is fast approaching, and whether you have an evening out with your other half planned, or a big night out on the town with your best friends, you will need something to ensure you turn heads (for the right reasons.. obviously).
Acne has always been an absolute favourite brand of ours, here at Demon Fashion HQ. We adore their aesthetic, their visual merchandising and their modern tailoring and shapes. What’s more, their shoes and handbags are a complete dream.
This season, metallics and simple patterns will enable you to own the night. The above metallic silver shirt is to die for. The oversized shape and the drop shoulder sleeve, combined with the gorgeous colour will look incredible with a pair of well fitting jeans and black heels – obviously, dress appropriately according to where you are going! Jeans and heels are a safe bet for a meal out. Less good for a club with the girls..
Big chunky boots and an oversized bag will create a chic off-duty look – a look that suggests you didn’t try to hard and enhance your natural beauty. Alternatively, guys, if you’re reading this post in the hope it find gift inspiration, why not opt for a Links of London Sweetie charm, like featured above, or this silver Kate Spade bangle? Both scream love.
I can presume if you are reading this, that you are most likely to be a university student which means that Acne and the like are somewhat out of the price range. Above is our choices from the high street – in fact, all of the above edit are from ASOS (except the boots which are from Heelberry – LOVE). Valentines Day can be a day in which finding the balance between “oh this? I always look like this?” kind of casual and “yes, I’m pretty and notice it” kind of smart, is an incredibly hard middle to find.
All over the SS14 catwalks were lovely printed trousers, with quirky tailoring and shapes. The ankle length will elongate the leg, whilst adding a pair of heels with them will enable you to feel smart enough to be taken anywhere (even if you don’t know where you are going!). However, if you are more of a dress kind of gal, this tartan and floral layered print dress will add a feministic flare to your outfit. Add the contrast green bag for a style forward look.
The open toe shoes featured above have dominated the blogosphere recently. Their versatile style and ability to be style with near enough everything allows them to be a wardrobe staple. Warning though – they’re clearly not the warmest of shoes so may only be suitable should you be jumping in a cab door to door!
Whatever you are doing – single, taken, married or engaged – make sure you have a lovely lovely day and evening xx
