The Islamic Society will be contributing in an exciting project known as Charity Week in a few weeks, and we hope you will all join us to be a part of something amazing. Charity week will be running from the 27th October- 2nd November 2014.
There are some major events in the Isoc calendar and Charity week is one of them. Many of you are probably wondering what Charity Week is all about and what it entails.
Charity Week is a student led organisation in collaboration with Islamic Relief where students, Muslim and non-Muslims unite together for one week, for one cause which is helping needy children and orphans around the world to make a difference. It all started when a brother saw how divided our student body was 11 year ago, so he decided to do something about it and that is how Charity Week was born.
Hundreds of institutions up and down the country from colleges to universities; schools to youth groups are taking part in this amazing cause. The atmosphere is just amazing and we can’t wait for you all to experience this wonderful journey.
Last year at DMU we raised over £9000 in one week and this year we want to top that. This is where we need your help; whether it’ll be from baking cakes, bucketeeering or creating a hype, we need you all.
We really want you to work with us this year and collaborate as students for this great cause. We are aiming for this Charity Week to be our best one which is where we will need your help.
Please contact the Head Brother Muneeb or Head Sister Shabnam for more details on how you can help. Be part of something amazing!!
