DMU Falcons during their varsity game last season against Leicester Longhorns

A rookie heavy squad made their way to Northampton Nemesis home ground on Sunday 2nd November in their homecoming game to start the season. After a shaky start the Falcons found themselves two scores down but were by no means ready to quit. Rookie running backs supported returner Marcus Kerr in scoring the team’s first touchdown in a valiant display against a seasoned defence. After silly mistakes cost the defence 22 points in the first three quarters, they stepped up in the 4th quarter by pushing back their offence and gaining yards on almost every play; leading to line backers Ryan-David Parry and Luke Evens gaining MVP’s of the game.

While the score line of 25-6 may not suggest it, there was many positives to be taken from the game as many players, rookies and returners, leaned a lot of valuable lesson against one of arguably the league’s best teams.
