For weeks rumours have been circling online that Beyonce was about to drop yet another surprise album on the world. Whilst these rumours were only semi-true in that Queen B is just re-issuing ‘Yonce’ but adding in a number of new tracks such as ‘Ring Off’ as well as unheard remixes from Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams and some from hubby Jay-Z.
A snippet of totally new track ‘7/11’ has been found online and if the 30 seconds of audio is anything to go by, the new tracks featuring on this re-issue could potentially blow the original album totally out of the water. Beyonce’s ascension to fully fledged musical goddess upon the release of ‘Yonce’ was spectacular and it seems she’s so happy with this new direction that she’s continuing towards and for fans that can only be a good thing.
‘7/11’ is a mile a minute (technically 30 seconds is all we’ve heard), hip hop infused banger and I predict that the now infamous ‘surfboart’ could be replaced with ‘butter’ because even not technically the correct lyric, it’s pretty damn close and if it catches on I for one would love to see hundreds of drunk people praising butter on a night out, but that’s just me.
Normally album re-issues are a bone of contention as they often are just a way to make more money from the die-hard fans that want to collect every single release from someone but rarely offer anything ground breaking or new in terms of material. But fans of Beyonce won’t be disappointed with the re-issue as it also features a DVD taken during Beyonce’s ‘Mrs Carter World Tour’.
