Students are concerned for their safety following a stabbing on Western Road.

Earlier today, a 28-year-old man was assaulted in a house near Bede Park, and is now being treated in hospital.

Many De Montfort University students live on Western Road and the surrounding areas and some are worried about their security while in their homes or walking around.

Charlotte Tidbury, a second year Youth and Community development student, said::”I feel concerned that this has happened so close to University and my house.”

Robyn Carter, a second year Architechture student, said:”You don’t expect something like this to happen in broad daylight so close to home.something like this to happen in broad daylight so close to home.”
