Do you think you have what it takes to invent the new Pina Colada? Thanks to a joint session, hosted by Cocktail Society and Wire DMU, four lucky students will be in with the chance of concocting a new addition to Bossa’s cocktail menu.
The event, set to take place at Bossa Café Bar on 18 March, will see five teams compete to have their concoction sold in one of Leicester’s leading café bars.
Teams will be given a short masterclass before being immersed into a lab of liquors, juices and syrups.
Sian Dixon, Chair of Cocktail Society, said: “This will not only give participants an idea of how the bar world runs, but will also give a Bossa (a local business) a bit of notice.”
With the help of Wire DMU’s entrepreneurial skills, teams will get the chance to brand their cocktail, in order to make it marketable.
All concoctions will be available to buy at Bossa for one month before the winner is decided.
The champion will be crowned based on the amount of sales made during the month long promotion and as a result, their creation will become a staple on the bar’s menu.
With only 20 places available, it is imperative signs ups are made quickly!
Sian said: “It is going to be a super fun event. You will learn new skills, and it will give you a chance to get your work recognised.”

Drink?
If the madness of the Apprentice-like competition is too much for you, why not back the teams instead! With winners being dictated by drinks sales, you could help shape their destiny.
How about supporting the cause by heading to Bossa over Easter and trying out your fellow students creations?
Because, who doesn’t like a cheeky cocktail?
