The coldest season of the year is almost here! It’s time to wrap up with your cosiest jumpers and dress up with your sparkly outfits to get into the Christmas spirit. This winter’s all about red, cord, checks and sparkle! Keep reading to find out the key trends you’ll want to buy into…

  1. Red

Forget pink, the must-have colour for this season is red! Add a small pop of colour to your winter wardrobe with a red jacket or try it head-to-toe like Kendall Jenner wearing Fendi on the catwalk.

  1. Cord

The ‘70s vibes have returned as corduroy makes a mega comeback. The catwalk saw chunky suits with wide-leg pants by Prada and cord jackets with shearling collars by Marc Jacobs.

  1. Sparkle

This trend seems very appropriate with Christmas being on its way. Try twinkly knee-high party boots like Channel or metal textiles like Paco Rabanne’s dress. Get started by purchasing a metal tote bag or glam up your look with diamantés, sequins and glitter.

  1. Business Check

Designers such as Victoria Beckham and Stella McCartney are bringing the checked blazer into everyday looks. Longer lengths dominated the catwalk along with doubled breasted cuts and shoulder pads. Add the blazer to your casual looks by coupling it with a pair of jeans.

  1. Belted Waists

Isabel Marant and Miu Miu emphasised the waist using belts on the catwalk. Prepare to see belts wrapped around everything from jackets to knits.

  1. Nylon

Add a full-length nylon coat to your winter collection. Stella McCartney, Céline and Christian Dior all featured nylon coats on the catwalk. They will be perfect to keep in your bag just in case the winter weather is against you! There’s no need to worry if your coat gets a bit creased either.

  1. Supersized Bags

This season, bags are getting even bigger! Céline’s geometric bags, Channel’s soft slouch styles, and Proenza Schouler’s shiny bags can all be brought into your everyday look.

  1. Oversized Knits

Knitwear is everywhere during the winter season. Snuggle up in an oversized turtleneck sweater as demonstrated by Balenciaga, try out Alpine-esque prints like Loewe, or keep it classic with cardigans as shown by Miu Miu and Prada. Pair yours with slouchy trousers and midi skirts.

  1. Fancy Feet

Make a statement with your socks or tights. Lace, fur, and fancy patterned hosiery were all shown off by designers such as Nina Ricci and Mulberry on the catwalk.

  1. Short Puffer Jacket

The puffer jacket is here to stay! This season will see a revamp with shorter styles being most wanted. On the catwalk, Coach 1941 opted for a floral and shearling puffer jacket. However, neutral colours would be great for everyday wear.
