Nominations for De Montfort Students’ Union’s (DSU) 2021 Elections are now officially…OPEN! The DSU elections are just around the corner and as a student-led organisation, you are in charge of deciding your next student leaders. Your student union needs you!
Are you passionate about creating long-lasting change? Eager about student-related issues? With an officer role, you can not only make a huge difference to student life at DMU, but also have a rewarding experience that will help you launch your future career. This is your opportunity to lead your union and to make real change here at DMU for the benefit of your fellow students. Each role will have its own area of focus and the team will work together to ensure students get the best possible experience and DSU continues to represent your academic interests.
You can register yourself as a candidate for the position you believe you are best suited to from the roles available, create manifestos outlining what you want to achieve in office and most importantly, campaign to win votes from the entire student body.
Any of these positions are an excellent opportunity to:
- Make a difference – improve DMU by making sure that students are heard across the university!
- Develop skills – you’ll get an opportunity to attend meetings, work in partnership with university staff, and develop your skills for the workplace.
- Be supported – Whatever role you stand for your Students’ Union will support you to campaign, and if you’re elected, DSU will continue to support you in your new role.
It’s important for you to remember that, even if you don’t win, running for one of the positions will give you valuable new transferable skills and boost your confidence.
If you think you have what it takes to lead your student union, nominate yourself here! Nominations for the DSU Officer Elections 2021 are open now and close on Monday 15 February at 11:59pm.
