RAG (Raising and Giving) Bytes Back is a 12-hour long charity broadcast, an annual event organised by Demon Media. Over the last few months, members have been preparing a wide range of exciting content, which shall feature a number of popular and familiar retro games, as well as our very own Drag Race contest.
It shall see all three strands (Demon TV, DemonFM and The Demon Magazine) work together to produce entertaining content to fundraise for charity. DemonFM will go live on air at 9am and Demon TV will broadcast from 12pm. With lots of games planned, DMU’s student media group cannot wait to put their hard work to the test for two worthwhile causes.
The livestream will be in aid of the charities ‘Mind’ and ‘Leicester Hospitals Charity’. Mind is a national charity that specialises in helping those experiencing mental health problems, and Leicester Hospitals Charity is a non-profit local to Leicester that aims to provide support to patients, their carers, and the NHS staff who look after them in Leicester, Leicestershire, Rutland and beyond. All proceeds donated shall be split between these organisations.
After a difficult year for everyone, we want to give back. We hope to raise £750 and increase awareness of these incredible causes. No matter how big or small your contribution, it will make a huge difference to people’s lives both locally and nationally.
