Sunday night was theatre’s time to shine with the Tony Awards putting the spotlight on the best musicals and theatre performances of the year. Hosted by one of my favourite men on the planet; Neil Patrick Harris, we instantly knew that the Tony’s were going to start with a bang and end with one as well.

The Tony’s celebrate one of the greatest parts of the arts that we know. Theatre has the opportunity to take you out of your mundane life and place you into the all-singing, all-dancing world of a perfectly chosen cast who with each performance become better, each night on Broadway.

Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Kinky Boots, and Matilda were the major winners at the Tony’s on Sunday. Matilda: The Musical managed to take home the Best Book of a Musical, Kinky Boots got their hands on Best Musical and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike putting a vice-like grip on Best Play.

But of course, when I mention any awards evening, my focus is solely on the best dressed of the evening. The casts and film celebrities came from far and wide showcasing their gowns and suits.

Funny girl and quick-witted actress Anna Kendrick arrived at the Tony Awards dressed in a ruffled navy Donna Karan Atelier. Adding to her super chic look, Anna wore minimal accessories, with a smokey-eye makeup look and the cherry on top being her bubble-gum pink lips.

Sienna Miller who attended the awards with her husband; Tom Sturridge and his mother, wore an ankle-length pink Burberry Prorsum dress in her signature hippy/boho-like fashion. Sienna’s hair was pulled back and styled with a floral headband, which made a great addition to her pink strapless dress. Her makeup, similar to Anna’s, was very minimal – perfectly dewy skin and berry-red lips.

Patina Miller star of Pippin, one of the musicals which won a few awards at the ceremony, wore a gorgeous floral Zac Posen dress, with minimal gold accessories. Her Smokey eye makeup brought out the colour in the dress and her glossy lips stood out to.

The ever-beautiful Scarlett Johansson, however, was my personal best dressed from the Tony Awards. Not only because she wore Saint Laurent, which is one of my favourite designers, but her sheer sexiness oozed from the black dress, which was topped with a tuxedo blazer. If there is one thing I adore about Scarlett, it is her ability to pull-off gothic-red lipstick almost as well as Gwen Stefani. Her curled, shiny hair is always a great look for an evening like this. She definitely didn’t win a Tony, but she won my vote for Best Dressed!
