After an incredible 2013 for both acts, it has been announced that Bastille and Disclosure are leading the nominations at the BRITs 2014.
Radio 1 Breakfast DJ Nick Grimshaw was in charge of delivering the good news whilst hosting tonight’s launch party (Thursday, January 9), aptly named The BRITs Are Coming.
Both Bastille and Disclosure have been nominated for four awards each, and in the same four categories. Meanwhile Ellie Goulding and Rudimental have come a close second, with three nominations respectively.
Last year’s Outstanding Contribution Award winner David Bowie also makes the list, as have One Direction who continued to dominate the music world across 2013. Both acts received two nominations.
Tom Odell, John Newman, Laura Mvula and Arctic Monkeys have also been nominated for two awards.
The BRITs – to be hosted for the fifth time by British actor and comedy writer James Corden – are set to take place on Wednesday, February 19 at London’s O2 Arena.
