Award ceremonies are often focused on the lovely ladies of the ball. Don’t get me wrong, who doesn’t love a flowing frock wrapped around your favourite actress. But its time for the boys to take centre stage, so lets see what we’ve got at the recent 2014 Golden Globe Awards.

Star of The Wolf on Wall Street, Leonardo DiCaprio was seen in a dapper black tuxedo with stylish black bowtie, with some Jennifer Meyer cufflinks thrown in for good measure. Bradley Cooper also took a similar approach in his dapperly tailored tux. Very safe, very stylish, very discreet. Love it.

Sean Combs breaks the mould of ‘safe’ tuxedos with his ever so slightly oversized bowtie. Meanwhile, double nominee for Mandela, Idris Elba, brought along this slick and sexy Gucci tux.

Everyone’s favourite performer and Bieber creator Usher, exploded onto the red carpet in an oxblood two-button notch lapel tux, black dress shirt, black bow tie and black leather shoes. All this provided by our good fashion friend Calvin Klein.

Matthew McConaughey definitely spiced things up a bit with his incredibly striking emerald green velvet jacket and waistcoat with black lapels by Dolce & Gabbana. The forever stylish Channing Tatum wore a sleek black skinny tie giving a modern touch to his tuxedo.

If I were to give a prize to the best dressed man of the evening, I think I’d have to give it to Matthew McConaughey with his gorgeous green jacket. Runners up being Channing Tatum for his modern twist tie and Usher for the bold oxblood tux.

Who’s your favourite gent of the evening? Until next year’s Golden Globes.
