With the second term back in full swing, societies have teased us with some of the exciting things they’ll be getting up to this term. There’s a lot that you could be getting involved with, and it’s never too late to sign up. 19 January. 17:00-18:00pm. The Lounge

Skydiving Club will be presenting at the Re-freshers Information Presentation. As well as finding out more about the society, attendees will be treated to stories of current members’ diving experiences. There is also the chance for you to sign up to skydiving courses to take place between January and February. Experience a Legends themed evening amongst the musical talents of Music Society. Entry is completely free!

Want to see what happens during child birth? Midwifery Society is screening a special micro-birth documentary. On the Microbirth Film Screening Facebook event page, host, Emma Quaintrell writes: “These events could have life-long consequences for the health of our children and potentially could even impact mankind”. Where members can enjoy the showing for free, non-members are welcome for a small fee of £3.

30 January. 19:00pm. Innovation Centre

Wire DMU have announced their first guest speaker of 2015. Alina Bezuglova, co-founder of Pitchswag (an online incubator) will be here to discuss the art of growing a business. Entry is £3 for non-members.

2 February. 20:00pm. Crumblin’ Cookie

Comedy Society will be up to their funny business, hosting an Open Mic night. Showtime starts at 9pm with entry being £1.

14 February. Telford

A few weeks ago, we told you DMU Gaming Soc will be hosting the Gaming Nationals. The society is on the lookout for volunteers to provide assistance during the event.
