With RAG week soon approaching, DMU Netball Club are set to be hosting their annual charity event, Netfest on Saturday 7th of February.
Netfest is a fun charity tournament to raise money for our chosen charities, this year they are Joe Humphries Memorial Trust and Myeloma UK. Everyone who attends DMU, lecturers, students, their families, can all come and have fun playing netball, while raising awareness for the selected charities.
The day starts at 10am and will consist of short games of netball as teams’ battle it out for the most points. The top teams will then play against each other until a winner is decided. American Football and returning Netball old girls have both won Netfest in the past so they are sure to be back and keen to regain their title, all in the name of fun of course.
Netfest isn’t all about playing netball, they’ll be a raffle and prizes, both for best team name and best fancy dress on the day, so be inventive! As this is a charity event there will be a small fee of £2 per person on the door. And don’t worry we’ll be looking after your bellies too with food and various refreshments available to purchase on the day. After a successful event last year, raising just over £1000, DMU Netball hope to raise even more this year!
Not only is the charity event happening during the day, the Student union is also holding a “Netfest After Party” in the evening. Entry to the SU will be £3 if names are put on the guestlist.
