LCM was initially established to promote and acknowledge the creativity of British brands and talent within the fashion industry. From Friday 9th January to Monday 12th January, many of the UK most established and upcoming menswear designers showcased their designs all over London. From catwalk shows in Somerset house to exhibition showrooms LCM gives menswear designers the chance to showcase their talents shedding light on the significance and influence of menswear fashion within the industry.
Many of the LCM catwalk show designs are predicted to be the trends of SS15, here are just a few trend reports from some of the shows and exhibitions:
Alexander McQueen SS15
McQueen designs consist of very structured tailored designs with pieces including waistcoats, blazers and straight legs trousers. However, the use of bomber jackets and white shirts suggest that, although McQueen SS15 collection is heavily based on tailored clothing, there is still something slightly causal about the designs.
Baartmans and Seigel SS15
Baartmans and Seigel designs contain elements of both sports and military wear; raincoats and bomber jackets in clean aesthetics. Think of the collection as a sportswear-meets-military mashup. With the use of water-resistant material, detachable hoods and extra padding jersey lining throughout, it is a perfect collection for for the not-so-summery English weather.
E.Tautz SS15
E.Tautz SS15 designs was filled with stripes, bold designs, shoulder pads, wide-leg trousers and shorts, with a nautical and khaki/camel colour scheme. Many of the looks are very laid back with the selection of baggy overcoats and bottoms, which makes the collection quite casual and informal unlike E.Tautz previous AW15 collection.
KTZ SS15
The designs in this collection are extremely edgy, urban and eccentric. Consisting of mesh tops, leather pieces and gold accessories, Marjan Pejoski and Sasko Bezovski again prove that they do not conform to the norm. With no signs of bright pastels or colourful two-pieces, this is definitely a SS15 collection with a twist.
Lou Dalton SS15
Dalton’s designs are softly tailored and resemble a fashionable chic twist on traditional sports and casual wear Dalton’s collection consists of various coloured two-pieces and simplistic jackets. With the pastel colours and white pieces Dalton’s colour scheme reflects the Spring/Summer vibe.
