Exam season may be around the corner, but you may all be pleased to know Tea Break are here to get you through this important time. Our members here at Tea Break will be providing you with some exciting articles in the next few weeks: from theatre and film reviews, to deliciously healthy recipes; monthly favourites, to revision top tips and so many more! Make sure you keep up to date with our blog so you don’t miss a thing.

Last month we held our very first music quiz in aid of ‘Hope Against Cancer’, a local charity. It was a fantastic evening, full of musical fun and games, so a big shout-out to all those who came, donated and got involved! If you missed out, don’t despair as we’re always thinking of new events and activities, so keep your eyes peeled for our next fundraiser.

As I’m sure may all be aware, we’ve reached that time of year again where current society members have the chance to lead their society in the coming year by applying for committee roles (if you weren’t aware of this, I’m glad you’ve learnt something new – that’s what Tea Break is here for!).

Not only am I a member of Tea Break, but also on the committee. I have to say that being on the committee has been a wonderful experience. I have been able to put ideas into action and meet lots of new people in the process.

Our current treasurer, Joana Alemany Bird, also has a few words to share about her time on Tea Break committee: “Working with Tea Break has been fantastic! I have been able to get to know the members of the society through their writing style and it has been interesting to see what they choose to write about. A highlight of this year was definitely the music quiz, as we raised money for charity and had good fun whilst doing it!”

If you’re in a society, make sure to ask your current committee members about why they love being on committee and how you can get involved!
