It was the biggest night of the year for the members of Demon Media, De Montfort University’s award-winning student media group.

The year Demon Media Awards (sponsored by SULETS) was a night of glitz and glamour for the student media group (who celebrated its 21st Birthday earlier this year) as it showcased some of the fantastic work of its volunteers and awarded members in a range of different categories from highlighting design and technical skills, television and radio production and behind the scenes, radio and television presenting, journalism and feature writing and overall contributions to the group.

It has been an incredible year at Demon Media and to award and recognise some of those achievements of students at De Montfort University is wonderful. Earlier this year, Demon Media raised over £1000 for charities Coping with Cancer and Mind during its 20-hour telethon ‘The Great RAG Challenge‘.

Demon TV came away with four awards and received Highly Commended television station at the NaSTA awards. The Demon were shortlisted for two awards in Design and Sports coverage at the Student Publication Association awards and DemonFM were host to some famous faces at the Student Radio Association conference, an event organised by the students employed and volunteering at Demon Media and supported by the De Montfort University and its Students’ Union.

The Night of the Demon Media Awards ended with Rhiann Tintor, DemonFM Presenter and Catalyst Producer winning the biggest award of the night, Demon Of The Year.

Indecisive, confused and somewhat sleepy. Editor of The Demon and presenter on DemonFM. Fashionably late to everything.
