It’s been a while since I managed to get a Spotted! out of my system. Being back at University and getting into the swing of things has been more hectic than I could’ve imagined. But guess what? I’m back, and hopefully you’ll see these a little more regularly.
So, because I’ve not done one of these for ages, I feel like I’I’ve got some making up to do. That’s why I’ve compiled more than just three outfits that I like and they’re all dedicated to the lovely ladies on screen and paper, donning some gorgeous gowns.
I’m going to start with Scarlett Johansson, whose been in the press a lot lately for her role in the new film ‘Her’ starring Joaquin Phoenix and written and directed by Spike Jonze, as well as ‘Don Jon’ which is written, directed and stars the gorgeous Joseph Gordon-Levitt. What a busy lady! She attended the Rome Film Festival for ‘Her’ wearing a Dolce and Gabbana dress, gold strap heels and a very desirable orange/red lip. The outfit is supreme because Scarlett pulls it off with no fuss and no worries – it’s almost like the dress was made for her and fits her like a hand to a glove. I love!

Emma Watson attended the Lumos Fundraising event, where she not only got to be reunited with J.K Rowling, but where she wore the most stunning black dress by Chloé. The dropped waist of the dress is something that’s coming into trend very, very slowly and will be everywhere in stores soon enough. The fact that it’s black proposes no questions as to why I love it, but with her hair in a loose plaited updo with almost-opaque tights and pointed heels – it’s a no brainer really. It’s a sure thing that Miss Watson knows how to work an outfit anytime of year.

It’s not a secret that I simply ADORE Suki Waterhouse. She can put on any dress, any skirt/top combination or even a crazy ensemble and look absolutely incredible and inspiring. So when she rocked up to the BAFTA LA Britannia Awards in an Emilia Wickstead dress, I was not surprised that she has managed to pull off head-to-toe in plush pink. The waterfall front dress, with a slight puff in the skirt, with long sleeves and a high neck sounds like a weird combination, but it works so well and on Suki’s model frame? Even better. She makes the ladies from Pride and Prejudice look boring, that’s for sure!

Rooney Mara: the lady on the top of my ultimate style icon list of 2013! Why? It’s because of outfits like this, that’s why. While Rooney, star of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, can pull off pretty much anything from the über girly to the major grunge, this all-white dress and heel combo is a perfect fit. The dress, which is from the 2014 Spring/Summer collection by awesome designer, Balenciaga, is one of the most intriguing dresses I’ve ever seen. The strapless, embroidered dress has an overlay, which is part cape, part mesh overlay – amazing! It’s dresses like these that make us question what fashion is about. Is it about looking good 24/7? Not so much, it’s about catching the eye! Well done, Miss Mara, you look ace!

Oh come on, now! Don’t look so surprised – you knew that Jennifer Lawrence was going to be in here SOMEWHERE! After having all her hair chopped off into a surprisingly suited pixie crop, Jen wowed us all with an equally gorgeous Dior dress at the premier of the new Hunger Games flick, Catching Fire. The dress, which is sleeveless and has a long section of beaded beauty, was perfectly paired with a pair of pointed court shoes in the surprising colour of navy – to match with some of the beading detail. Nude was the theme that Jennifer went for with her make up, and the lack of accessories might be displeasing to some, but it helped to emphasise the pure amazingness of the Dior gown. It’s probably one of my favourite looks from Jennifer Lawrence, and with her favourite designer, Dior, contributing to my other favourite looks, it’s no wonder that she always looks absolutely incredible.
