Here’s part two of my 71st Golden Globes fashion roundup, which includes my top five!
The beginning of my top five starts with Amy Poehler, one half of the 71st Golden Globes’ hosts. Amy wore a Stella McCartney dress with asymmetrical sleeves and a small cut-out section in the abs area. The high rise of the neckline in Amy’s Stella McCartney dress means that there is no need for extravagant necklaces – the dress does it all for her. But I love the choice of architectural cuff that Amy wears on her right arm and the glossy black belt brings it all together. For this kind of dress, I would love to see Amy don the famous sleek and slick hairstyle, but her loose curls are equally as fabulous. Welcome to the top five, Amy!

Fourth place on my list is one of my favourite actresses, Emma Roberts. She arrived on the red carpet alongside her gorgeous fiancé Evan Peters, who stars alongside Emma in American Horror Story: Coven. Her dress is by Lanvin and is one of the classiest, most elegant dresses of the evening, easily getting her a comfortable place in my top five! To add a pop of colour to her all-black ensemble, Emma chose some gorgeous light blue drop down earrings, which is one of the ultimate focuses in her outfit choice, other than the incredible neckline of her Lanvin gown. Again, a sleek hair-do makes way as Emma has her hair pulled back with an extreme side parting – simple but so effective.

The gorgeous Jessica Chastain headed straight for the extremely classy section at Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci and made a great decision by choosing this dress, making third place on my list of best outfits. The black, strapless gown with somewhat of a wing detailing at the sides and front of the torso section is a fashionable take on gothic elegance, something I simply adore. With her choice of Bulgari jewellery and perfectly pushed back hair, it’s no doubt that Jessica is in the top five of my outfit choices for The Golden Globes.

Number two on my Golden Globes outfit countdown is the gorgeous and fashionably-talented Lupita Nyong’o, star of 12 Years a Slave, who wore a dazzling blood orange Ralph Lauren gown from the spring/summer 2014 collection. Lupita looks killer in the gown that has an attached cape that flows down the ground like the dress, and why have strapless when you can have the stylish version of ‘off-the-shoulder’? Dewy skin and glossy makeup definitely gives some shine to her look but still remains relatively minimal to allow her gown to do all the talking. Love it!

Lastly, but not least in no means possible, we come to my favourite outfit of the whole evening. It comes from the leading lady in the Harry Potter series: Emma Watson. Emma wore a Dior Couture outfit, which very much screams ‘business in the front and a party in the back’ in regards to the dress-like front and the gaping back to reveal cigarette-style trousers. The reason I love this so much is because it’s a completely unique take on what to wear to high class events like the Golden Globes. Most women opt for the gorgeous gown, while other individualists head for the feminine-meets-masculine tuxedo, but Emma’s Dior choice is a combination of the two which is very on trend and extremely enviable. All the awards to you, Emma, my Golden Globes outfit winner of 2014!
