In February Tom Ford graced London Fashion Week with his Autumn/Winter 13 catwalk show which brought in a whole lot of trends for the coming year.
The ‘maximalist’ collection was quite eccentric but it still had the elegant and classy trait that Ford stamps on all of his clothes. He used a lot of colour, sequins and fringing to create the beautiful patterns. Some of the patterns gave a nod to 1970s star Ziggy Stardust. After seasons of minimalism and keeping our wardrobes simple, this was a breath of fresh air and was unexpected. Also seen were the numerous furs that were in the collection. The leopard print was in some way tacky but the pink and green coloured furs stood out in a great way. This looks to be an up and coming trend for next autumn and winter.
Seen in the front row were Vogue USA Editor Anna Wintour and Justin Timberlake. The conclusion? It was a great show and London is hoping to see Tom Ford showing again in the near future.
To follow this trend mix lace and prints together. Head to toe prints are allowed when it comes to 2013/14 summer and autumn trends. But keep your accessories neutral to avoid looking like a Christmas tree.
