The exhibition will take place at the Bowes Museum in County Durham and goes by the name of Yves Saint Laurent: Style is Eternal, a reference to the famous quote by Saint Laurent: “Fashion fades, style is eternal.”
The Bowes Museum and Pierre Berge, Saint Laurent’s former partner, have come together to create this amazing exhibition.
It is scheduled to run from 11 July up until 25 October.
It is expected to showcase any key items that have changed women’s clothing over the past 50 years of his career.
This will give fashion lovers from all over the country the chance to see Yves Saint Laurent’s unforgettable work as they will get the chance to get up close and personal to some of the 5,000 garments, over 15,000 accessories, drawings, paper patterns and objects that have been archived by the Fondation Pierre Berge.
The collection will include pieces such as his female tuxedo, trouser suit and his creations inspired by Picasso and Mondrian.
In the past, the Bowes Museum has been graced with many fabulous designers’ exhibitions including Vivienne Westwood, Henry Poole & Co and Laura Ashley.
