Oliver Rousteing, the Creative Director of Balmain, posted what looks like the first images of the Balmain Pre-Fall 2015 collection on Instagram called: ‘The Balmain Romance’. The poster campaign features IMG Model Dev Windsor and Wilhelmina Model Cindy Bruna.
The pre-fall collection channels the glamour and elegance of the seventies Parisian culture through Palazzo pants, elegant aesthetics and heavy embroidery work. Rosteing has clearly embodied the stable sexy and sassy designs of past Balmain collections, with the use of sheer panelling, which is sophisticated yet sexy.
The designs are undoubtedly heavily influenced by the seventies discothèque era; with floral patterns and brightly coloured pieces. Overall the pre-fall collection is definitely something different from Balmain.
With the opening of a Balmain store in Mayfair, London, next week and a shop rumoured to open in New York later this year, the Balmain army shows no sign of stopping.
