LL8Swedish ‘indie-pop’ singer, Lykke Li is not only an incredible musician with an infectious stage presence, but she is also an icon for the masses when it comes to fashion and individual taste in clothing.

I love an entirely black outfit, it’s just my inner grunge/goth kid’s way of telling me that she’s still present, and Lykke embraces that and absolutely nails it every time. Whether she’s performing at her own dim-lit headline tour, or on a smokey festival stage, she always brings her A-Game – talent and style.

When she released her debut album, ‘Youth Novels’, in 2008, everybody absolutely adored her music, and followed to play a set at Glastonbury and Lollapalooza after it was released. She then had songs featured in films such as Sorority Row and The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

Her style is very fitting of her Swedish background, so much so that she recently released a collection for H&M sister company, & Other Stories, which is still available to buy online.

The collection, much like Lykke’s style is entirely black, made of materials including leather and silk, with splashes of gold in gorgeously crafted rings and necklaces. While the collection is quite pricey, ranging from £29 to £185, & Other Stories promises to only deliver quality, and that hand-in-hand with Lykke’s personal touch, makes it an incredible collection.

What I, amongst many others, love about her style is that it is extremely laid back. You can instantly tell when you see pictures of Lykke Li that her outfits are not forced – she puts effort in, don’t get me wrong, but they’re not horrendously out-there. Dare I say it, her style is a little normcore, with an extremely minimalist and monochrome base and just a hint of grunge – a combination not to be reckoned with.
