Holidays are like a Burt’s Bees lip balm or Real Techniques foundation brush: a must-have. They let you chill out for a week or two, forget about university, college, school or work and allow you to indulge in sun and amazing company. (Isn’t that the truth?!)
If you’re like me, finding THE perfect bikini or swimsuit is tough, especially if you have a certain budget. However, have no fear! I’m here to help you find perfect swimwear to go with your equally perfect holiday.
If bikini’s aren’t your thing – you’re in luck! Long gone are the teeny weeny bikini days that barely cover your body, here to stay are the more classy swimsuits perfect if you fancy a change from the standard two-piece.
To opt for a more retro look, this halter zig zag swimsuit from New Look is perfect if you fancy something flattering and simple. The monochrome colour scheme is perfect with any colour coverup or pair of sandals and if you’re fuller in the bust, the size allowance will be supportive, comfortable and simply stunning. Don’t forget your 10% off Student Discount at New Look!
Another place great for summery swimwear is River Island. Their edgy patterns and designs are a great fit on form fitting swimsuits, and this one is a real treat. This Pink Pacha Floral suit is gorgeous for any leading lady! The ‘corset’ fit means that this swimsuit is equally supportive as it is gorgeous, and for £35 – you can’t really complain!
Up next is quite the unconventional choice for holiday swimwear. From ASOS, this mesh panel swimsuit with a high neck courtesy of South Beach is perfect for those summer goths who aren’t sure which direction to take their black clothing obsession during their holidays (a.k.a – me). For £22.50 (plus 10% student discount courtesy of UNiDAYS) this swimsuit beats most others for it’s extremely edgy look; the mesh panel helps to add a little something extra to an otherwise plain costume, and the high neck is a little off-the-cuff with swimsuits.
This extreme v-neck swimsuit from ASOS is absolutely perfect if you’re a daring kind of lady! This ASOS high waist deep plunge swimsuit is great to add a bit of something different to your average swimsuit. It’s quite flattering because of it’s smooth material and high-waist aspect along with the halter style straps. The great thing about this style is that it comes in six (yes SIX!) different colours: this gorgeous mustard, along with red, black, white, purple and aqua. Go get them all while they are still in stock!
This particular duo from ASOS is a perfect take on the Triangl bikini that is sweeping the (Tumblr) nation. If you can’t afford a Triangl bikini, which retails between £50-£70, this neon ASOS wonder is your next best thing. The great option with this is not just the price but the interchangeable style of the bikini. Whether you opt for a longline bikini top with the brazilian shorts or the strappy top and high-waist bottom – this pink delight will never limit your options!
When I think bargain bikinis, my mind goes directly to H&M. Their mix-and-match style of bikini’s are a great choice if you’re going to be swapping and changing on a daily basis. For around £7.99 (and sometimes under!) H&M have a great option of swimwear that can be styled and utilised in different ways. In particular, this is one of my favourites for it’s simplicity and how you can swap the bottoms for a brighter colour or plain black, visa versa.
Whilst we’re talking Bikini’s, I’m often partial to the high-waist bottoms, as mentioned in the previous ASOS discovery. This one, which is River Island via ASOS, is perfect for those (like me) who fancy mixing retro with modern patterns. At £32 for the top and bottoms, this bikini is not only going to keep you on trend, but will always excite you due to it’s vivid colour and pattern.
The high neck is back! This time it’s in the form of a teeny bikini from Topshop. This Mixed Scale bikini is not only a great price but interesting and perfect for a minimalist, fresh look in summerwear. For £30 (plus 10% off Student discount), this bikini would look great with seriously chunky sandals and a light coverup between the pool and the hotel bar.
